Helping Idaho History Hit the Road

More than 75 years ago, Idaho’s Liberty Bell traveled across the state, and in 2026, it’s hitting the road again.
Idaho’s full-size Liberty Bell replica arrived in the state in 1950 as part of a nationwide U.S. Savings Bonds campaign. After touring Idaho, it was installed at the Idaho State Capitol in 1951, where it has remained for generations. Now, following a major restoration, the bell is once again traveling the Gem State as part of America’s 250th anniversary celebration, with a goal of visiting all 44 Idaho counties.
Kendall is proud to play a part in bringing this piece of Idaho history back to communities across the state. Kendall Ford provided a Ford F-450, while our partners at Reading Truck helped design and build the custom flatbed needed to safely carry the nearly 4,000-pound bell on its journey.
It’s a special full-circle moment: when the Liberty Bell originally toured Idaho in 1950, it traveled aboard a Ford truck. More than seven decades later, a Ford is helping carry that tradition forward for a new generation of Idahoans.
